Rebuilding After Transformation: Eight of Coins on the McKenzie River

My website’s back-end now offers the option of having A.I., LLM, Artificial So-Called Intelligence, write these posts for me. So here is what the AI thinks is the right thing to say about our card this week:

The Eight of Coins is a Tarot card that symbolizes hard work, dedication, and craftsmanship. In the image on the card, we see a skilled artisan intently focused on their work, creating objects that are both useful and beautiful. This card encourages us to apply ourselves diligently to our craft, whatever that may be, in order to achieve mastery and create something of true value. The Eight of Coins tells us that success comes through perseverance and commitment, and that we must be willing to put in the time and effort required to achieve our goals.

In the words of world-renowned, Olympic Gold medal-winning Tarot reader and podcaster Tiffany Lee Brown, a.k.a. T: “YAWN.”

Please do not use computers and AI to get your readings. Get real readings for your Tarot and astrology, from real humans. We are infinitely less boring and more tapped into the Great Woo than AI will ever be.

Three of Coins at the Creek: The Newness Begins

Podcast time! Free Tarot Reading: Walking along the creek with the Three of Coins with your Tarot reader and astrologer, Miss Tiffany Lee Brown a.k.a. T.

Pull a Tarot card, come along for the ride, walk along the creek as spring-summer pushes through the end of winter. What's new? What's manifesting? How are we connecting to elder wisdom?

Creativity Interviews

What moves spirit toward manifestation? What is “our” part of making art, writing, music—and what comes from the gods, goddesses, planets, mystery forces?

These are among the questions I often hear, in some form or other, from Burning Tarot podcast listeners and my personal Tarot clients.

So I thought you might enjoy a few links on the subject, including a Plutopia podcast interview featuring poet Jane Hirshfield and me, T, your friendly local Tarot reader.

Plutopia’s On Creativity episode
Poet Jane Hirshfield and writer-artist-Tarot-reader Tiffany Lee Brown/”T” in conversation with Jon Lebkowsky and Scoop on the Plutopia podcast. Interview, panel discussion, podcast, audio, streaming or with downloadable MP3.

Choosing Curiosity Over Fear with Elizabeth Gilbert
On Being with Krista Tippett features Big Magic, The Signature of All Things, and Eat, Pray, Love author Elizabeth Gilbert on curiosity, creativity, and more. Interview, conversation, podcast, audio.

OnCreativity TV - video interviews
Designers, artists, writers, cartoonists and more are featured in short, powerful videos about the creative process. Milton Glaser, Ann Hamilton, & more, presented by Plazm & Niko Courtelis. Streaming video.

Photo above: Tiffany Lee Brown (a.k.a. your humble Tarot reader T) performing in the Richard Foreman Mini Festival, presented by Performance Works NW at the Someday Lounge in Portland, Oregon. Because Foreman Fest was one of the most wildly creative events I’ve ever beheld or taken part in. Plus, the red velvet theatre curtains look so very, very David Lynchian….

Choices, Pressure, Fantasy: Seven of Cups & Two of Swords Reversed at the Oregon Coast

Are we lucky to have so many choices? Or is the strain getting to us?

We hang out at the beach and explore self-protection, searching for truth… overload and overwhelm… stuckness and release. Something has to give, something has to change—though our eyes are open to all possibilities.

A whole lot of lead-up this week! Two cards are with us on the Burning Tarot podcast this round, which takes place at the Oregon Coast. The long lead-up really does contextualize our free weekly Tarot reading and oceanside nature walk.

Expressing Ourselves in the World, Drinking in the Queen of Cups

Thank you to everyone who’s been pitching in on my Big Birthday Present! Wow. I am feeling all sorts of warm fuzzies and deep appreciation. Seriously, big big thanks.

This week we will have the hybrid solar eclipse at 29 degrees of Aries, as I mentioned on last week’s podcast. This week, no astrology, just a Tarot reading for the lovely lil’ handful of our Burning Tarot listeners.

Today we’re using the 2009 version of the Burning Tarot deck, a double-sided Tarot pack of my own invention (which is no longer available for download/purchase). So come take an audio walk with me! Yay.

Laying Down the Burden: 10 of Wands in the Forest

What does it feel like to carry a burden? What does it feel like to lay it down?

Join me for a woods wander, free Tarot reading, and contemplation of what loads we carry. A good subject for Pesach, Passover, Easter, Good Friday weekend: when bunnies cavort with colorful eggs, the Jewish people celebrate their escape from slavery in Egypt, and Christians celebrate death, rebirth, and transformation.

Shining Stars: A Free Tarot Reading & Woods Wander

Come, my pretties. Let us stomp through the snow and mud. Let us contemplate the light that alights among us. It’s time for nature walk & free Tarot reading. With a new deck that was sent to me…

We are walking today with "The Star" card from the new Harmony Tarot Deck, not to be confused with the US Games version. It’s a collaboration between designer Chris Lee of Leestudio and an AI (artificial intelligence) thingy called Midjourney. It's attractive. Is it real? Perhaps not.

Hoping to have your Tarot deck featured on the podcast? Please send it to:

Sisters, OR 97759 USA

If the deck is coming from an environment with mustiness, perfumes, or incense: DON’T SEND IT. I have serious allergies and environmental sensitivities.

Many thanks.

Queen of Swords Wields her Weapon

Fire! Water! Air! Nearly all the elements join us for a free Tarot reading. No nature walk today: wood stove comfy-cosy fire instead.

On a wintry day, we sit beside the fire and pull a Tarot card to explore together. Today, it's the element of air as embodied by the Queen of Swords. Is she badass? Yes. Let's look at the astrology of the moment (very briefly) and get some context for how her feminine energies can help, harm, and defend.

A Quickening: the Eight of Wands

Howdy, my Tarotists. Enjoy a nature walk, some snow, a little free Tarot reading. I recorded this what turned out to be right before the Arctic front came down from the north. Now it’s about ten degrees F out there. Brr!

Fun under the Sun: illuminating Tarot

Well hello there.

Here I am, glowing in the winter sun in one of my favorite places a couple years back. I am illuminated! (Secret Illuminati handshake goes here.)

It's a campground down the road from the house where my family now lives. For a while, we lived in and around this campground. The sanctity of forest rhythms imbued our days. Magical springs and streams brought us our water.

Today, I visited that same spot with a family member. We observed dead trees we used to know as live trees. We saw older trees in the process of dying. We held them to us.

We bowed to the cave spirit of Golden Dome. A great sheet of ice lay in front of it. We had never seen that before, in our many visits.

My loved one discovered that a little trickle of the springs was running, here in the near-height of winter. The streambed blossomed with bright green mosses, little plants, and algae, like this:

...none of which grew here back when we started camping and then living in this campground, here in Deschutes National Forest in Oregon, some 5–10 years ago.

In other words, things change. They change, die, grow anew. And on this our beautiful Earth, the energy for this process of transformation and growth comes from the Sun.

We've drawn the Sun as our Tarot card this week. It's hopeful and welcome and nicely timed. Our podcast Tarot reading explores the card, a bit o' nature, and also discusses some essentials of how the Tarot is put together -- with some helpful hints for understanding Tarot and doing your own Tarot readings.

So it runs kinda long. Hope you enjoy! Click the white triangle/arrow below to stream and listen to our free Tarot reading and nature walk, or look for the text link that says “Download,” if you want to download it to your phone or other device.

Much luv,

t

About this particular free Tarot reading / podcast episode: SPOILER ALERT! It’s way more fun to just listen than to read this. But I’m putting it here anyway.

Your Tarot reader and astrologer Tiffany Lee Brown, a.k.a. “T”, takes you on a nice, snowy woods-wander for Imbolc, St. Brigid’s Day. We explore change, chaos, Uranus, the Covid 19 pandemic, Fate, free will, yin with our Western culture yang. Robert Anton Wilson, living in your car on psychedelics, belly-flopping Jim Belushi, being a hausfrau. The Wheel of Life, Wheel of the Year, Wheel of the Law. Everything that could possibly be stuffed into my wheelhouse.

Please do enjoy dealing with wild-ass change and revolution! And enjoy your free tarot reading and meandering blather in the pine forest of Central Oregon … Readings and info at https://tiffanyleebrown.com .

Juggling & Dancing with the Two of Coins

Earth again, my pretties! Again we draw coins: this time, the Two of Coins (or 2 of Pentacles, or two of discs) from the RWS or Smith-Rider-Waite deck.

Today, we receive visitors from the sky—and I ask for your help in exploring a new reading spread, created by Susan Prince. Volunteer if you’d like to test the spread or get a free reading! Learn more in the podcast.

We’ll explore what A. E. Waite thought about the card he commissioned, with some help from Crowley and Rachel Pollack. The Two of Coins also relates to using our hands to manifest things—in particular, to the act of writing.
